What is the Internet ?
The Internet is a global network of computers, and every computer connected to the Internet is considered part of the network. For example the computer you are reading this on is part of the Internet. People use the internet all around the world, in Asia the total amount of computers connected is 825,094,396 and in Europe the total adds up to 475,069,448. These statistics show how huge the Internet has become around the whole globe.
How and Where did it start ?
There are many different theories on the start of the internet. Some people say development started in 1957 when the Soviet Union launched Sputnik 1, the first satellite. Others believe that it was started by the US Department of Defence in 1969. However the internet began (1950's) it never became a huge part of our lives until 1989 when WWW. (the world wide web) was invented. As Bill Gates said 'The Internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow.'
The Web, what is it ?
The World Wide Web (WWW.) started in 1989, It is ' the universe of network-accessible information, the embodiment of human knowledge.' So a search browser. It helps people get hold of information online. The web began as a networked information project and Tim Berners-Lee who is now the director of the World Wide Web Consortium developed a vison of the project.

Blu
Who is Blu and what does he do ?
I chose to talk about the graffiti artist Blu last lesson, Blu would do Stop-Motion animations using graffiti on walls, buildings or any other surface he could find. Blu is an Italian artist that has deliberately decided to conceal his real identity from the public. What little is known about Blu is that he lives in Bologna and has been active in the street art scene since 1999. He has made a large variety of videos in the last 11 years but the two most well known are 'BIG BANG BOOM' and 'MUTO'
Where does Blu work ?
Blu originally did his art in his hometown of Bologna. But having hit his nomadic peek in 2005 he started to travel all around the world to do his work. He has done pieces in Rio, London, Berlin, Milan, Prague and Nicaragua.
What was his career like before 2005 ?
Blus career began in 1999 with a series of illicit graffiti painted in the historical centre and suburbs of Bologna. His characteristic style appeared in 2001, however, when Blu started painting with house paint, using rollers mounted on top of telescopic sticks. This new solution allowed him to increase the painted surface area and convey a stronger intensity to his visual vocabulary. Huge human figures, sometimes sarcastic, sometimes dramatic, who looked as if they were borrowed from comics or arcade game world, began appearing along the streets of Bologna around this time.
